In late June , 2004 while riding in the mountains on our way to Trento, Italy to meet with a group who were headed for the Netherlands to attend the Europez EP IX meeting in Zwartsluis, Netherlands, we encountered a group of riders, all on new bikes. We first encountered these folks when we were brought to a halt by a construction zone. After we were allowed to pass through the construction we encountered them again at the Albula Pass. These folks were all from Motorrad Magazine and each of the bikes was being tested - each bike was new and had been provided by the manufacture for their use in order for them to prepare an evaluation for each bike for publication in the August , 2004 issue. The lone model from BMW was the new R1200GS.
