Our plan for this year was to tour as many of the places we have not been to in the last three years. Our original plan was to go to southern Italy and into Greece but we lost all of the first half of the year because we went to Oregon to help Verna’s parents with the first phase of a remodel of their house.

So, after we completed the demolition of the house to prepare it for remodeling we flew to Frankfort, Germany on June 8th to be reunited with our bikes.

We spent the first five days in Germany at the Hotel Zum Ziegelhutte, Am Bahnhoff 6, 65510 Idstein (+49 6126 702 77). There is not any way we can ever repay the kindness that the owners (Gabi and Erdmann Scheibe) have shown us. If you are ever in the Frnakfort area and would like a nice hotel that is about 35 minutes by train from the city (25 minutes to Weisbaden) please consider staying at their hotel. The breakfast is one of the best we have had.

Now we begin this years adventure! We will be spending a lot of time in Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria and Northern Italy as well as some time in the Neterlands and the United Kingdom. The objective is to see a lot of the places we have managed to miss so far - and that’s a lot.

Well, that’s the plan. Now we have to see how close we will come to completing it.
