What is it about running water that we all seem to be so attracted to? It really is quite strange. In May of 2000 we returned to the US by flying our bikes and ourselves into Toronto, Canada from Amsterdam. From there it was just a short drive to Niagara Falls.
At left is American Falls (also from the Canadian side) with one of the tour boats you can take a ride in pictured to the lower right of the falls, called “The Maid of the Mist”. These little boats chug their way up to the base of the falls pictured above. We’ll leave it to you to get the specifics about liters per second over the edge and all the other impressive statistics. We are in awe from just looking at the sheer power this water produces. To think that people have actually floated over the edge in barrels! |
