Saturday was spent touring a local mining operation that had been in use until 1920’s. The mine was reopened during WWII but the low grade of ore was not profitable. It was closed forever in the 1950s. After the tour of the mine we rode to a nearby Abbey where we stopped for lunch. After lunch everyone went off on their own for a ride exploring the area and we rode back to the castle with Cheryl having Sascha on her bike and Christopher on his bike. Once at the castle we had Coffee (tea for us) and kuchen (cake). Everyone else arrived just in time for dinner to be served and we then adjourned to the fire to solve more of the world’s problems. Please note that some of these pictures are a bit large and it will take some time to download them if you have a dial-up internet connection. |
