oxfordWe took a day-trip on the train to the Cotswolds (small rural villages North North East of London and an extremely beautiful county setting) and Oxford. Oxford is primarily a university city but also houses some industry in the form of the Morris car manufacturing plant.

Downtown Oxford, pictured at right, has and unbelievably varied architecture with buildings having been built, remodeled and replaced over the years.

christchurch college oxfordChristchurch College is probably the most famous college in Oxford. Oxford University. Christchurch College. Huh? OK, a brief primmer on organization of the University. Within the University there are numerous schools which are known as Colleges. Christchurch is just one of many. Who knows what the charge will be by the time you read this so we will leave it to the reader to research that bit rather than post information that will soon be out of date.

While it is not mentioned in all of the guide books, we found All Souls College to be quite interesting.

all souls oxfordWe did take a tour of some of the colleges and if you have too you will know which Lewis Carrol character appears in which window of which famous college.
